Point of Entry vs. Point of Use Filtration
While whole-home (point of entry) water filtration offers more comprehensive protection, some homeowners opt to install point of use systems. Spartan Plumbing helps with both.
Point of entry filters treat your water supply before it reaches the tap. These systems are often located in the basement and serve as the center point of all water filtration in the home.
Point of use filters, on the other hand, are installed beneath your sink. So if you have a point of use filter under your kitchen sink, it only serves that particular fixture. You will need to install additional filters in your bathroom, basement, etc.

Completed well conversion with sub drive, and shocked well. Removed old water heater, brine tank, and expansion tank. Water softener programed, and installed properly, with new out going 90.
Carol called us out in interest of getting her current water softener to work properly. We found the water softener to be inefficient and an older style valve that we don’t work on. With the age and situation at hand for the better investment, we recommend to install a newer high efficiency unit with a carbon filter. We also offered a standard water softener that would be slimmer in size to add more room in the utility closet. The original unit was determined to regenerate more than it should. Carol was not interested in a repair. We will follow up with Carol on 11/28/22 at 10 am. She would like to get through the holidays before she makes any move on an investment.
Keith called us out in interest to get their hot water back up and going. We noticed that the original unit is from 09. We recommended to replace any water heater that is older than 6-8 years old. We found the homes pressure is at 60 psi and does not need an expansion tank. We have Keith several option with replacements and repair/ diagnostic. We found a gas leak on the piping for the furnace, and we also recommended to redo the gas line in order to make it more serviceable. Keith though that was a great idea. Install a new 40 gallon water heater in the mech closet. Warranty on the unit comes with a worry free 1 year warranty. We will install a new shutoff valve, drain pan, gas line valve. We will discard of the old unit. Take care of the leaks on the gas line. The gas line for the furnace and water heater will be completely redone in order to make it easier to remove the water heater. We will install all new pipe and fittings to both fixtures. 1 year warranty on our piping.
Replaced main shut off, installed new PRV, repiped main water manifold, installed expansion tank, replaced tub spout in upstairs blue tub shower, along with cartridge in same tub/shower.
Joan called us out for a leaking water heater that is also not heating. Joan has used us before and we’d love to take care of him still. We let Joan know his options for a water heater replacement. With a lot of valves and piling in the way we will have to remove a lot of items in order to just get the tank out. We found his pressure at 50 and expansion tank to not be working. Joan let us know that he is having another company out right after us. We will give a follow up call at 4:50 today.
Blake and Nikki called us out in order to take care of an emergency leak in the their garage on a water line. We found out that they move in last may and have not lived here for very long. Their other complaint was their well pump running whenever they are not using water. We found that they have an unusual cistern tank and hand dig well. We only work on drilled casings. We can hear water running down in the pit where the pump is located. There is no paper work on the well that we could find immediately. We recommend to have a properly delayed and accessible drilled well installed. We will be sending over some options for this to happen. We will recommend our preferred well contractors to see if they can assist with this issue. We also found the homes drain system plumbing has many flaws such as no vents on any drains, incorrect sealing, and possible near future failure. We notified to them these issues and we will quote the repairs for them in order to give them a worry free feeling w
Thomas Contacted Spartan Plumbing in regards to his tankless water heater sandwiching with cold spots while showering. Contacted Rinnai technician support and went through troubleshooting diagnostic with video assistance Rinnai rep provided parts to be replaced parts are subject to shipping and availability part numbers and descriptions are available via photos. Confirmed O-rings through reliable supply which is a supplier for Rinnai tankless water heater’s other items are not available and will need to be ordered through other supplier based on their availability. After further conversation with Rinnai they are going to replace the entire unit due to parts being back ordered and unavailable they much rather would have client with hot water than waiting on parts. After communicating with client he would like to help his son install the unit and us do the road work to get a new unit here and we will charge accordingly. Steve called us out in interest of capping off a gas line for a dryer that he does not use. Steve has a project where he is installing some shelving in the utility room. He would like the pipe to be removed and capped off in the attic. Steve showed us the access for the attic in the garage. We found the gas meter around to the left of the home. We found that the gas line is showing some rust on the piping. We told him we recommend to paint the gas line to prevent anymore rust from forming. We also let Steve know about the gas supply to his water heater is stainless flex pipe. We let him know that those flex gas lines are not lightening proof and are against code. He said he would like to think about that issue and not go forward with the work due to the line not leaking. After checking the pressure and the water heating equipment we found that the everything looked great. We will be coming back 11/18/22 with a 12-4 opening. Sarah called us out in order to until to get her propane fireplace up and going in the living room. Sarah and her family has lived here for three years. She said the fireplace has never worked since she moved in. We do not work on fireplaces or chimneys, So we recommended mid valley chimney and sweep. We gave them their business card for them to call and further assist them. We checked the homes pressure and it was at 60 psi along with a good working expansion tank. A new pressure reducing valve and expansion tank was installed by another company. We recommend it to support the expansion tank for any possible failure in the future. We did offer the necklace repair but Sarah was interested in calling the other company back and see what they had to say about it. We did not find anything wrong with it. We showed Sarah a membership for the company if she would like to further do work with us in the future.
Mr Timms contacted Spartan Plumbing back out to Reroute waterlines into wall to allow for new vanity to be installed. Cut drywall to allow access for reroute measured new vanity to allow for proper clearance around drawers and legs drain line is fixed and cannot be relocated Mr. Timms will need to notch new vanity to allow for drain connection.
