Whole-House Water Filtration in Dayton, OH
Enjoy fresh, clean water right from the tap! Call Spartan Plumbing at (937) 238-8620 for a consultation on water filtration options for your Dayton home.
If you have hard water or other water quality issues, it’s time to consider setting up a whole-home filtration system. A quality filter can help you save money on bottled water, and you won’t have to deal with scaling in your appliances.
Plus, a comprehensive water filtration system keeps abrasive minerals and contaminants from affecting your plumbing pipes, in turn helping you avoid costly repairs and premature pipe failure.
We understand you may have a lot of questions before you decide to purchase and install a whole-home water filtration system. You’re probably wondering: Which type of filter should I get? Will it actually work? What’s the installation process like?
Spartan Plumbing has you covered. Our Springboro water filtration experts will handle everything: helping you choose the right filter and sourcing it for you, ensuring proper installation and connection to your water lines, and providing tips on maintenance.
Selecting the Best Water Filter For Your Property
You have several options when it comes to choosing your new water filtration system. Selecting the right one depends on the contaminants and minerals in your water supply. Some homes have hard water, and others might be dealing with chlorine, lead, pesticides, or bacteria.
We recommend purchasing a test kit from your local home retailer to identify the contaminants affecting your water. You will then have a better idea of which filtration technology to select.
Some of the more popular water filtration systems we install include:
- UV sterilization (ideal for targeting bacteria and viruses)
- Water ionizers (acidity)
- Activated carbon (chlorine, chemicals, sediment)
- Ion exchange (hard water minerals)
If you are still unsure about which type of filter to get, give us a call and our team will help you navigate your options and recommend the best water filtration system for your property.
Point of Entry vs. Point of Use Filtration
While whole-home (point of entry) water filtration offers more comprehensive protection, some homeowners opt to install point of use systems. Spartan Plumbing helps with both.
Point of entry filters treat your water supply before it reaches the tap. These systems are often located in the basement and serve as the center point of all water filtration in the home.
Point of use filters, on the other hand, are installed beneath your sink. So if you have a point of use filter under your kitchen sink, it only serves that particular fixture. You will need to install additional filters in your bathroom, basement, etc.
You may want to consider installing a combination of point of use and point of entry filters for a more comprehensive treatment.
For example, some homeowners put in a point of use reverse osmosis filter under the kitchen sink for treating their drinking water, while a point of entry system is installed in the basement to handle filtration for the rest of the home. Doing this helps you target different contaminants while improving your overall water quality.

nearly perfect service and repair
Jerilyn - Dayton, OH
I liked how Andrew was able to be at my home quickly in the AM, explained to me how things worked and why they didn't work with my water heater. He fixed it in a timely manner and cleaned up after his completion of job. It was a bit more expensive than I hoped but I have nothing to compare because the 3 shops I called before were unavailable. I'm satisfied with the work I received.
